The Hidden Infrastructure of Harm: How Ending Birthright Citizenship Could Create a New Underclass in America

The Hidden Infrastructure of Harm: How Ending Birthright Citizenship Could Create a New Underclass in America

By Rev. Paula Josephine Sadler

In recent months, the national conversation around birthright citizenship has intensified, especially with new executive actions and litigation surrounding the Fourteenth Amendment. For many Americans, this feels like a distant political debate—abstract, theoretical, or merely symbolic.

But for millions of families across the country, the implications could be catastrophic. And for our democracy, it marks a dangerous turning point.

This is not just about “future births.”This is not just about border politics. This is not even just about immigration.

This is about who belongs—and who the government can decide does not.

And behind the scenes, a far more ominous reality is taking shape: the government already possesses the data systems necessary to identify, target, and separate millions of birthright citizens based on their parents’ status.

What is being framed as a legal argument is, in truth, laying the groundwork for a nationwide caste system—one that divides “real Americans” from “conditional Americans.”One that fractures families. One that strips human beings of their dignity. One that echoes the darkest chapters of world history.

⚠️ PART I: The Most Dangerous Question — How Will They Identify These People?

Many people assume that ending birthright citizenship would be impossible to enforce. They ask:

“How would the government ever figure out who was born to immigrant parents?”

The chilling answer:

**They already know.

And if they don’t, they can find out in minutes.**

America’s vast data infrastructure—built for health, education, social security, immigration, and identification—makes mass classification technically simple:

1. Birth Certificates

Every birth certificate includes parents’ names, birthplaces, and Social Security numbers. This alone identifies millions of U.S.-born children with noncitizen parents.

2. Social Security Databases

The SSA tracks which parents do or do not have valid SSNs.Children connected to temporary or absent SSNs can be flagged instantly.

3. DHS & Immigration Databases

Any immigrant who has ever interacted with:

  • USCIS

  • ICE

  • CBP

  • State Department

  • visa systems

  • asylum systems

  • refugee programs

…is catalogued.Matching these records against birth certificates is straightforward.

4. School Systems

Schools quietly track languages spoken at home, countries of origin, and residency patterns.Project 2025 proposes unrestricted data sharing between agencies.

5. Passport Applications & REAL ID

If citizenship becomes tied to parental legality, passport renewals will become interrogation points:

“Provide proof your parents were legally residing in the United States when you were born.”

Most people will not have such evidence—especially older generations.

6. AI and Big Data

Modern algorithms can cross-reference millions of records in seconds.

This is the same method used in:

  • China

  • Russia

  • Myanmar

  • Hungary

  • Nazi Germany’s Reich Citizenship Office

Identification is the first step in systemic oppression.

💥 PART II: The Real Goal — A Divide-and-Conquer Citizenship War

The political messaging is framed as an immigration reform. But underneath is a far more divisive purpose:

To pit “multi-generation Americans” against those who gained citizenship by birth.

This is how fascist systems rise:

  • Create an internal enemy

  • Delegitimize their rights

  • Classify them

  • Separate them

  • Remove them

  • Consolidate power

Project 2025, whether explicitly or implicitly, embraces this strategy.

It is not merely policy—it is purity ideology. An attempt to define an American by ancestry, not identity; by lineage, not shared values.

This would affect 20–30 million U.S. citizens, including children, teenagers, adults, veterans, and elders who have lived here their entire lives.

Even if they remain legally citizens, administrative obstruction can make them second-class:

  • passport denials

  • citizenship “review”

  • employment barriers

  • documentation challenges

  • social suspicion

The message becomes clear:

“Your citizenship is conditional.Your belonging is conditional.Your humanity is conditional.”

This is antithetical to every spiritual truth, every moral principle, and every democratic ideal.

💔 PART III: The Human Toll — Children With No Home but America

If the government begins mass deportations of undocumented parents, millions of U.S.-born children will face impossible choices:

  • enter foster care

  • be placed with strangers

  • lose their families

  • “self-deport”

  • or become stateless in the only country they have ever known

These children do not have another homeland. They do not speak another language. They do not have passports elsewhere. They do not have citizenship elsewhere.

America is their home—not by policy, but by life.

Taking that away is a spiritual violence of the highest order.

🛑 PUBLIC WARNING STATEMENT

Issued by Rev. Paula Josephine Sadler

Founder of Universal Rainbow Faith • Author • Community Leader

To the People of the United States,

We are entering a moment of profound moral crisis.

The attempt to undermine birthright citizenship—whether through legislation, executive reinterpretation, or administrative coercion—constitutes a direct threat to:

  • our Constitution,

  • our democracy,

  • our families,

  • our shared humanity,

  • and the spiritual principle that every person is inherently worthy and divinely created.

I issue this warning with clarity and compassion:

Any policy that classifies citizens by ancestry, parental status, or national origin is a path toward authoritarianism.

It is a path we have seen before in world history. It is a path that leads to cruelty, division, and destruction of the human spirit.

We must resist with:

  • truth

  • courage

  • solidarity

  • love

  • and unwavering commitment to justice

Let us be vigilant.Let us be united.Let us protect one another fiercely.

For in protecting the vulnerable,we protect the nation’s soul.
