The Decree of Sacred Truth and Historical Integrity
Issued: March 29, 2025
In response to the Executive Order "Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History" (March 27, 2025), this decree affirms the sacredness of diversity, defends transgender women, and denounces the erasure of racial and gender history from American institutions like the Smithsonian.
President Donald Trump's recent executive order, titled "Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History," aims to reshape the narratives presented by the Smithsonian Institution. The order directs Vice President JD Vance, a member of the Smithsonian's Board of Regents, to eliminate what it terms "improper, divisive, or anti-American ideology" from the institution's exhibits and programs. This includes working with Congress to ensure that future funding prohibits exhibits that degrade shared American values or promote ideologies inconsistent with federal law. A significant focus of the order is the forthcoming Smithsonian American Women's History Museum. The executive order specifically mandates that the museum should celebrate women's achievements and explicitly states that it should not recognize transgender women as part of its exhibits.
Prior to this directive, the museum's interim director, Lisa Sasaki, had expressed intentions to adopt an inclusive approach, planning to feature exhibits involving transgender women. Sasaki emphasized that there is no monolithic experience of womanhood and highlighted the museum's commitment to representing diverse narratives. Wikipedia+2WWMT+2WCTI+2New York Post
The executive order's implementation could lead to the exclusion of transgender women's stories from the museum's exhibits, altering the institution's previously stated commitment to inclusivity. This move has sparked debate among historians, activists, and the public regarding the representation of diverse experiences in historical narratives and the potential impact on the Smithsonian's mission to provide a comprehensive and accurate portrayal of American history.
THE DECREE OF SACRED TRUTH AND HISTORICAL INTEGRITY By Reverend Paula Sadler, Founding Minister of Universal Rainbow Faith Issued March 29, 2025
In the divine light of all sacred truth, and by the spiritual authority vested in me as the Founding Minister of the Universal Rainbow Faith, I, Reverend Paula Sadler, do hereby issue this Decree of Sacred Truth and Historical Integrity in response to the Executive Order entitled “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History” signed March 27, 2025, by President Donald J. Trump.
Let it be known:
-
We, the Universal Rainbow Faith, affirm the divine truth that diversity is sacred. We affirm that the full spectrum of race, gender identity, gender expression, sexuality, culture, and spiritual belief are not flaws to be erased, but holy expressions of the Divine Creative Principle. To deny the stories, struggles, and victories of marginalized peoples is to deny God’s handiwork and the sacred truth of humanity.
-
This Executive Order is not a restoration of truth but a declaration of historical and spiritual erasure. Its aim is not sanity but submission. To censor or defund exhibits that educate the public about slavery, racism, colonialism, gender identity, and systemic oppression is to tear the soul from American history. It is to glorify only the dominant while silencing the truth-tellers.
-
We refute the falsehood that transgender women are not women. Transgender women are daughters of creation, endowed with divine identity, dignity, and sacred worth. To erase their place in women’s history is to desecrate the temple of womanhood and commit a spiritual violence that harms all of humanity.
-
We denounce the assault on the Smithsonian Institution and its sacred charge to tell the full story of the American people. The call to remove exhibits about race, gender, and inequality is not about unity—it is about forced amnesia. It is the policy of oppressors, not liberators.
-
We affirm that truth, equity, and remembrance are spiritual imperatives. This Executive Order seeks to reinstitute modern segregation, suppress civil rights, and resurrect the moral poisons of Jim Crow. We will not stand idly by as freedom of expression, religion, and cultural storytelling are defunded, dismantled, or destroyed.
-
We declare that it is not the inclusion of race, gender, and LGBTQ+ stories that divides America, but the suppression of those stories that tears the nation apart. To honor Black history, women’s rights, queer resilience, and the truth of transgender lives is to build bridges, not burn them.
-
We invoke the spirits of those who came before us—from the enslaved and the segregated, to the suffragists and the Stonewall saints—and we vow to carry forward their legacy. We stand with Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Sylvia Rivera, Marsha P. Johnson, Audre Lorde, and every freedom fighter whose truth cannot be buried.
-
We demand the continued presence and inclusion of transgender people, Black Americans, Indigenous peoples, and all marginalized communities in the archives and exhibits of the Smithsonian and all national museums and monuments. To erase our presence is to falsify the record of God’s movement through time.
-
We call upon all faith leaders, truth-tellers, educators, artists, and spiritual communities to resist this erasure, to rise in prayer and protest, and to protect the sacred right to tell our collective story in full.
And so we say:
We are not afraid.
We are not silent.
We are the children of truth.
We are the bearers of divine justice.
We will not go back.
We will not be erased.
We will speak the sacred story.
In the power of the rainbow covenant,
In the spirit of the Universal Rainbow Faith,
In the name of divine justice and historical integrity,
I hereby issue this Decree.

🌈 Universal Rainbow Faith Proclamation
🗓️ May 17, 2025 – International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT)
By the authority vested in me as the Founding Minister of Universal Rainbow Faith, and in the name of divine justice, sacred truth, and radical inclusion, I proclaim:
That May 17th shall be recognized within Universal Rainbow Faith as a Holy Day of Sacred Remembrance and Resistance.
On this day, we acknowledge the global epidemic of homophobia, transphobia, biphobia, and queerphobic violence. We name the genocidal systems—legal, political, religious, and cultural—that attempt to erase LGBTQIA+ people from society, family, history, and spirit.
We call out:
• The rise of Christian nationalism and religious extremism
• The weaponization of scripture to justify hatred
• The criminalization of queer identity across nations
• The imprisonment, torture, and execution of LGBTQIA+ individuals
• The targeting of transgender people as mentally unfit, unworthy, and unsafe
• The global spread of Project 2025, MAGA ideology, and other systems of spiritual fascism
This is not politics.
This is persecution.
This is genocide in motion.
And as a church, we will not be silent.
🛡️ We Declare:
That every LGBTQIA+ person is sacred.
That queerness is not a sin—it is a spiritual gift.
That being visible is not vanity—it is survival.
That gender and sexuality are divine expressions of the Creator.
That protecting our community is not optional—it is holy work.
And we further declare that any attempt to erase, harm, silence, convert, institutionalize, or criminalize LGBTQIA+ people is an act of religious persecution against our sacred faith.
We invoke our legal protections as a recognized faith.
We claim every name, pronoun, transition, drag performance, queer family, and rainbow child as sacred religious expression.
We will not be legislated out of existence.
We will not be re-closeted.
We will not be disappeared.
We rise as prophets, as artists, as mothers, as warriors of remembrance.
🕯️ Ritual Act for May 17
Light a candle. Say the names of those lost. Bless the living. Reaffirm your sacred identity. Share your story. Protect another.
Let this day be:
• A day of mourning for those who never got to live their truth.
• A day of protest for those still fighting.
• A day of proclamation for those building the new world.
✊ We, the People of the Rainbow Light, Proclaim:
We are sacred. We are seen. We are divine. We are unstoppable.
In memory of those who came before, and in protection of those who are here now:
We rise. We speak. We stay alive.
With love and unwavering resolve,
