✨ A Sacred Welcome
At Universal Rainbow Faith (URF), we honor every soul as sacred—without shame, without exclusion.
We know that many in our LGBTQIA+ community, especially transgender women, have been pushed to the margins of society: rejected by family, denied jobs, expelled from schools, refused housing, and forced into survival sex work just to stay alive.
Let this page be a sacred sanctuary of truth:
-
We do not judge or condemn those engaged in sex work.
-
We honor your humanity, your choices, and your story.
-
We affirm that sex is not shameful—it can be sacred, empowering, and spiritual depending on the consciousness of those involved.
Whether by survival, choice, or circumstance, you are welcome here. You are not alone. And you are never outside the love of the Divine.
🔮 Our Beliefs on Sex & Spirituality
URF teaches that:
-
Sex is a natural, beautiful act—not something sinful.
-
Bodily autonomy is sacred—your body is your own temple.
-
Sacred sexuality is a spiritual path when practiced with love, consciousness, and consent.
-
There is no separation between spirit and body. Pleasure can be holy when embraced without harm.
But we also recognize:
-
Sex can be misused, weaponized, and exploited, especially in a society that criminalizes queer and trans bodies.
-
Adult work can be both liberating and dangerous—and the line between choice and survival is often thin.
🧘♀️ If You Are Engaged in Adult Work…
Know this truth:
You are loved. You are not broken. You are sacred.
We see you. We honor the bravery it takes to survive. And we offer you:
-

🙏 A Sacred Prayer for Sex Workers
Prayer of Sacred Light and Strength
Divine Creator of all life,
Bless those who walk the path of survival and expression through their bodies.
May they be protected from harm, violence, and hatred.
May they be free from shame, and full of self-love.
May they find safety, healing, and dignity.
For every touch that honors the soul, let there be light.
For every tear that fell in the dark, may there be peace.
They are not lost. They are not broken.
They are sacred.
Blessed be.
🌈 Amen.

📚 A Brief History of Sex Work & Spirituality
"Sacred. Stigmatized. Surviving."
🕊️ Sex Work in Ancient History & Spiritual Traditions
Long before it was criminalized, sex work held sacred and spiritual meaning in many ancient cultures:
-
Mesopotamia & Sumeria: Temple priestesses known as sacred prostitutes served in the temples of Inanna and Ishtar, where sexuality was seen as a divine act connecting humans to the gods.
-
India: In Hindu tradition, devadasis were women dedicated to temple service, which included sacred dance and at times sexual rites believed to confer blessings and divine energy.
-
Ancient Greece: Hetairai were educated courtesans who held significant cultural status. Sexuality was part of their divine femininity and power.
-
Japan: The Geisha and Oiran were courtesans with deep roots in ritual, artistry, and erotic elegance—distinct from modern notions of sex work but closely connected to sexuality and beauty.
In many cultures, sexuality was not sinful, but sacred—a force of healing, pleasure, and divine transformation. It was colonialism, patriarchal religion, and Western imperial morality that criminalized sex and demonized those—especially women and LGBTQ+ people—who embraced bodily autonomy.
✝️☪️🕉️ Sex & Spirituality Across Major Faiths
-
Christianity often frames sex as sacred only within heterosexual marriage. However, the story of Mary Magdalene—long believed (though inaccurately) to have been a sex worker—became a symbol of redemption, misunderstood sexuality, and erased feminine power.
-
Islam affirms the beauty of sexuality within marriage, though some Sufi mystics view sensual union as symbolic of divine love.
-
Judaism regards sex within marriage as a mitzvah (a blessing), and the mystical Kabbalah even speaks of the erotic as sacred.
-
Taoism and Tantra explore sexual energy as a spiritual force. In these systems, sex isn’t shameful—it’s sacred power.
Most organized religions suppressed the sacred feminine, queer sexuality, and gender-diverse expressions, forcing a shift from celebration to condemnation of sex and those who engage in it outside of rigid norms.
🌈 Sex Work & the LGBTQ+ Community: A Story of Survival & Sisterhood
For many LGBTQIA+ people—especially transgender women and queer youth—sex work has been a matter of survival, not choice:
-
Rejection from families
-
Discrimination in employment & housing
-
Lack of legal identity documents
-
Violence and criminalization
Trans and queer people have often been excluded from “respectable” society—and still found a way to survive through street work, performance, and companionship.
🌟 Historical & Modern Icons in Sex Work & LGBTQ+ History
🔥 Marsha P. Johnson
A Black trans woman and key figure in the Stonewall uprising. Known to engage in sex work to survive, she never apologized for who she was. Her existence alone is a spiritual testament to survival and self-love.
✊ Sylvia Rivera
Another trans trailblazer, also involved in sex work and co-founder of STAR (Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries), providing shelter for queer homeless youth and sex workers.
🎭 We’wha
A Zuni Two-Spirit person in the 1800s who blended masculine and feminine roles, including spiritual and communal functions—defying binary colonial norms of gender and work.
👑 Domino Presley & Buck Angel
Contemporary adult performers who are openly transgender and have used their platforms to fight stigma, educate about gender diversity, and affirm the dignity of sex work.
📚 Trace Lysette (actress & former stripper), and Laverne Cox (who has spoken openly about survival work in her early years), also represent the often-hidden truth: many trans women have done sex work not out of choice—but to stay alive in a world that offered no other way.
🌌 From Stigma to Sacred
Sex workers have always been here.
They’ve been mistreated, erased, judged—and still, they’ve carried beauty, spirit, power, and wisdom.
Universal Rainbow Faith reclaims this truth:
That the body is divine,
That survival is strength,
That sex can be sacred,
And that there is no shame in being who you are.
🌈 URF Sacred Sexuality Creed
“Sex is Sacred. We are Sacred.”
We, the members of Universal Rainbow Faith (URF), affirm this Sacred Sexuality Creed as a holy expression of our divine embodiment, liberation, and truth.
🔥 We Believe:
-
Sex is a sacred act—not a sin.
It is an expression of the divine spark within us, capable of connection, healing, creation, and joy. -
Our bodies are holy vessels of spirit, beauty, and pleasure.
No body is shameful. No desire rooted in love and consent is impure. -
Pleasure is a blessing, not a burden.
It is a birthright, a spiritual experience, and a path to self-awareness and divine connection. -
Bodily autonomy is a divine law.
Each soul has the sacred right to express, protect, and enjoy their body in alignment with their truth. -
Gender identity, sexual orientation, and desire are holy expressions of the Creator’s infinite spectrum.
-
Sexuality is not dirty—it is divine.
It is the lens through which many of us explore, discover, and celebrate the sacred. -
There is no shame in survival.
We honor the sacred journey of those who have engaged in sex work for healing, choice, or survival. They are not sinners—they are survivors. They are not broken—they are divine. -
Sacred sexuality is defined by consciousness, not conformity.
When practiced with respect, consent, love, and awareness, all sexual expressions can be a form of spiritual communion. -
We reject purity-based dogma and fear-based moralism.
These are tools of oppression. We are here to reclaim the body as a sanctuary—not a battlefield. -
Sacred sexuality can be celibate, erotic, sensual, or healing.
All paths are honored. No path is superior. What matters is the wholeness of the spirit walking it.
✨ And so we proclaim:
"We are not ashamed of our bodies.
We are not ashamed of our love.
We are not ashamed of our desire.
We are divine in every expression.
We are sacred in every breath.
Our sexuality is not a curse—it is a blessing.
Our embodiment is not a sin—it is a miracle."
With open hearts and sovereign spirits,
We declare:
Our sex is sacred. Our love is holy. We are URF.
