A Reflection on Divine Timing, Touched by an Angel, and the Voice of Conscience
By Rev. Paula Josephine Sadler
⨠Introduction: When Prayer Becomes the Answer
There are moments in life when something deeper than coincidence unfoldsâwhen a prayer is not only spoken but answered in real time.
This evening, after sharing a heartfelt message and prayer about truth, love, deception, and the moral responsibility we each carry, I was guided to sit down and continue watching a series that has been speaking to my soul in recent weeks: Touched by an Angel.
Without planning it, without searching for anything specific, I landed on Season 4, Episode 18: âBreaking Bread.â
An episode about:
Hate
Division
A white supremacist group
A violent act rooted in ideology
And the necessity of truth, accountability, and moral courage
But what unfolded was even deeper.
In this episode, the struggle is not only between peopleâit is spiritual. Darkness presents itself in disguise, influencing others, distorting truth, and fueling harm. The angels are not just comfortingâthey are confronting. They are revealing. They are standing in truth against deception.
It was as if the prayer I had just spoken⌠was being reflected back to me through story, through symbol, through Spirit.
This is how guidance often arrivesânot always through dramatic signs, but through alignment. Through resonance. Through moments where the inner and outer world meet in unmistakable clarity.
What stood out even more powerfully in this episode was how evil did not appear in an obvious formâit was disguised. The adversary presented himself as a seemingly ordinary new town mechanic, blending in, speaking like everyone else, yet quietly influencing events behind the scenes. It was in this hidden way that he planted the seed of violence, present in the back seat of the car on the night two young white men made the unthinkable decision to take the life of a young Black man. What is so deeply revealing is that there was one man, referred to as a âprophet,â who sensed this darkness. He recognized it for what it wasâpure evilâbut he was afraid to speak, afraid to come forward. And that is where the true danger lies. Not only in the presence of evil itself, but in the silence of those who can see it, feel it, and yet hesitate to name it. This moment reflects a profound spiritual truth: darkness often works through influence, suggestion, and fear, and it relies on silence to carry out harm. But we are called to be different. We are called to trust what we discern, to stand in truth, and to speakâeven when it is difficultâbecause silence can allow destruction, but truth has the power to stop it.
This is happening right now in the United States and throughout the world. This is the spiritual war we are in. The Devil, and Evil itself has always been here, it is in the most sacred of places in our churches and hearts. It has entered into the evangelical church in a way that convinces people that are hurting others that they are following Gods commands, when in fact the voice of fear and deception are leading them. Our governments, our leaders, our capital, the white house and the infection of political parties and conservative movements. It is not political it is spiritual warfare. White Supremacy and White Panic are at an all-time high. The adversary revels in the confusion, despair, terror and fear on all sides it has created. God loves all his children-ALL, black, brown, women, disabled, LGBTQIA+, Transgender people, and people of all faiths, there is no one right way no one right religion. Only a sincere desire to come to know our creator is all that is needed. God comes to everyone in a way they can understand even to the Atheists and Agnostic.
đď¸ My Prayer and Message (Shared Earlier This Evening)
âYou will know them by their fruitsâ (Matthew 7:16)
Beyond all political parties it is not about democrat or republican or independent we must simply look into a person's soul look deeply within them their whole life all of their actions all of their public facing life and all that we know about them when making decisions for leadership.
And when a life has been marked with kindness and compassion empathy and understanding truly bringing people together a leader that can help heal divides. It is beyond politics.
We asked ourselves the question does evil exist in the world? What is it that causes people to rape and murder and kill to cause War to bomb and destroy what causes people to abuse their children to harm others to steal to take advantage of. What causes people to become full of greed lust Envy sloth and pride?
It doesn't matter what side of the aisle that you fall on what matters is what's in a person's heart their words and their actions.
I vote my conscience I vote for love I vote for healing togetherness understanding empathy. These are the lasting principles in which societies flourish and thrive
What is most unfortunate right now that millions are caught in the adversary's web and a Web of Lies and evil and deceit of manipulation and control, they have been told they are doing something good and wonderful and patriotic that they are following a leader that will heal the country and Heal the World.
And unfortunately, what we have seen has been the complete opposite it would be wonderful if it were true, it would truly be a blessing from God but what we're seeing now has nothing to do with God. A God that loves and creates and made us as these beautiful creations and all of our variety all of our diversity would never want or desire for us to harm one another in any way or to disparage or to speak ill of each other it is only the adversary that causes us to do this.
But we must use our God-given sense and Common Sense and intuition in our intellect and critical thinking, and we must be able to know right from wrong and evil from well it is very simple
To believe that we are doing something good when we are actually harming. I pray for the United States and all of humanity to break free from the spell of deception to look deeply within their heart so that we may heal all the divides within this world and that we may live in a world where everyone is truly equal and that we emulate God's unconditional love for us towards all others.
To put down arms, to surrender the desire and need for war and killing and domination. To only ask for God's will to be done and that we may be restored to sanity and peace and joy.
God Save us from ourselves from our own destruction. And we pray for leaders to emerge that have love and compassion in their hearts and that speak kindly with dignity and Grace and respect to one another and to the people in which they represent so that we may have Global Harmony because it can exist and it is real if we make it so and work towards it.
I pray for those who have done harm to be fully accountable. For all of those who have done harm to indigenous peoples to black and brown people to LGBTIA+ people to women to people of different religions and backgrounds and diversities for all of those who have done great harm to repent to ask for forgiveness for themselves and for their ancestors who have done this harm and to move forward into a new paradigm into a new way of living and being where the past is never repeated and that all people are free in this world
Thank you God. Thank you God for sending your angels to watch over us to help us in this time of great need in our hour of need and the 11th Hour in the final hour and these final moments of the ending of who we have been and through the door to the new beginning of our new life
To all the people in the world who feel that an LGBTIA+ person cannot have Revelation from God from you and direct communication or they claim false prophet and false teachings let their heart and mind be open to see how they have been deluded and they have been captured by the adversary and they themselves have embraced false teachings passed down for Generations that have kept them in Eternal and divine ignorance of true spiritual law and of true spiritual principles of living open their heart and their mind for their healing to begin so they may have a new experience with the world around them and they may lay down their ignorance and their hatred.
I love you all unconditionally! And so it is. Amen
Sincerely,
In Unconditional Love, Rev. Paula Josephine Sadler
đĽ The Episode That Answered the Prayer
In âBreaking Bread,â a community is forced to confront the consequences of hatred disguised as belief.
The episode reveals:
Hate can hide behind ideology
Harm can be justified as righteousness
Silence allows injustice to grow
Truth requires courage
And most importantly:
Darkness does not always appear as darkness. Sometimes it disguises itself. Sometimes it speaks through people. Sometimes it convinces others that harm is justified.
The angels in the episode do not simply comfortâthey challenge. They call people into awareness. They reveal truth where there has been denial.
They remind us:
đ God does not stand with hatredđ God does not justify harmđ God calls us to love, truth, and accountability
đď¸ A Lived Experience: Discernment, Protection, and Signs

There was another layer to this experienceâone that brought everything into real, lived awareness.
Earlier that same day, I had to go to the DMV. There was a misunderstanding regarding my insurance coverage, and before going in, I prayed. I asked for clarity, for peace, and for protection.
What unfolded felt deeply unsettling.
The interaction with the two women I encountered did not feel aligned. There was a heaviness, a resistanceâsomething that felt off. It may seem unrelated or even inconceivable, but I truly felt that something was not right in that moment.
Many of us know this feeling.
We can sense goodness. And we can also sense when something is not right.
It felt as though there was an energy that carried distressâalmost as if there was a sense of enjoyment in creating difficulty. I stayed grounded in prayer, and that prayer carried me through the moment.
As I left, I looked up into the sky.
And there it wasâa beautiful white dove, flying high above me.
A sign. A moment of peace. A reminder of Godâs presence.

Later, at a meeting, a friend shared her experience. She had been profiled simply for being a Black woman driving a beautiful car. Her battery had died, and while she was in distress trying to get help, the police officer who arrived subjected her to a field sobriety testâdespite her many years of sobriety.
She could feel it clearly.
She was being judged. She was being treated differently. She was being profiled.
Two different experiences. One shared truth.
âď¸ The Reality: Good, Evil, and Awareness
These moments bring us face to face with something we must acknowledge:
There is good in this world. And there is also harm, distortion, and injustice.
Just as there are forces that divide, deceive, and harmâthere are also forces that guide, protect, and reveal.
There are angels.
And when we pray, when we stay connected to truthâwe are not alone.
We are guided. We are protected. We are given discernment.
I have come to understand that I carry a deep sensitivity to energy.
When something is not right, I feel itâan internal knowing, a sense of anxiety, a signal that something is out of alignment.
And I also know the opposite:
The feeling of peace. The presence of love. The unmistakable energy of God.
I know what miracles feel like.I know what goodness feels like.I know what truth feels like.
đď¸ Standing in Truth
In moments like these, we are called to stand in truth.
To say:
I belong to God. This space belongs to love. And anything that is not of that is not welcome here.
This is not about fear.
It is about awareness. It is about discernment. It is about courage.
Just like in the episode. Just like in the prayer. Just like in our lives.
⨠Final Reflection: This Is How God Speaks
Tonight was a reminder:
When we pray, something responds.
Not always in the way we expectâbut in the way we need.
Through:
Experience
Reflection
Story
Symbol
And synchronicity
Call it God. Call it Spirit. Call it divine guidance.
But it moves.
It reveals.
It aligns.
And sometimes⌠it speaks through angels.
