Universal Rainbow Faith Response: Confronting 'What Is a Woman?' and the Rise of Anti-Trans Rhetoric
By Rev. Paula Josephine Sadler Founding Minister, Universal Rainbow Faith (URF)
Sacred Response to Hatred, Misinformation, and Erasure
The release of What Is a Woman? by Matt Walsh, along with the growing echo chamber of anti-trans rhetoric from conservative influencers and religious extremists, has marked a dangerous surge in organized dehumanization. As the Founding Minister of Universal Rainbow Faith (URF), I stand not just in defense of my own identity as a transgender woman, but as a spiritual leader committed to truth, love, and the sacredness of all human diversity.
In this document, we respond with compassion and clarity to the dangerous narratives spread in Walsh’s documentary and by individuals like Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens, Michael Knowles, and others. These figures speak from ignorance and fear—not truth or divine wisdom. Their messages are not spiritual awakening but spiritual sickness.
At URF, we declare boldly: Transgender people are sacred. Trans women are women. Our identities are not political ideologies or delusions—they are divine truths.
🔍 Transcript Review: What Is a Woman?
Matt Walsh’s documentary presents a heavily biased view of gender identity, using manipulative editing, mockery, and selective interviews to push the false claim that transgender identities are invalid. Notably, it includes:
🎥 Interviewed Individuals:
Dr. Michelle Forcier – Pediatrician and gender-affirming specialist, presented as evasive or irrational.
Dr. Patrick Grzanka – Gender studies professor, edited to appear defensive.
Dr. Marci Bowers – Transgender surgeon, dismissed despite her experience.
Scott Nugent – A trans man who regrets his transition, used as a cautionary tale.
Dr. Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, and others – Given authoritative status without challenge.
🎯 Core Tactics:
Misgendering and ridiculing trans people.
Asking circular or baiting questions (“What is a woman?”) to corner rather than understand.
Presenting only detransitioners and critics as rational.
Framing gender-affirming care as abuse.
✋ Why It's Damaging:
This documentary furthers the idea that trans people are mentally ill, deceptive, or dangerous. It provides fodder for legislation that denies healthcare, civil rights, and dignity to transgender people. It is not a film of inquiry—it is a weapon of erasure.
🚨 Key Anti-Trans Influencers and Their Harmful Views
Name | Quote | Harmful Belief | URF Response |
Matt Walsh | “Transgenderism is a delusion.” | Denies the reality of trans identity; encourages ridicule and fear. | URF affirms all gender identities as sacred expressions of divine truth. Delusion is denying someone’s humanity. |
Ben Shapiro | “A man is not a woman. Facts don’t care about your feelings.” | Uses pseudoscientific reductionism to deny identity. | Spiritual truth transcends biology. Feelings do matter—compassion is sacred. |
Candace Owens | “Trans women are men in dresses. It’s a mockery of real women.” | Misgenders to incite fear; claims to protect cis women. | Womanhood is not defined by body parts, but by soul, love, and lived experience. |
Michael Knowles | “Transgenderism must be eradicated from public life entirely.” | Advocates for systemic erasure of trans lives. | This is hate speech cloaked in policy. We counter it with sacred visibility and spiritual resilience. |
Jordan Peterson | “You’re a man. I don’t care what you feel.” | Invalidates trans people’s lived reality. | True wisdom includes empathy. The soul speaks beyond flesh. |
Tucker Carlson | “They’re teaching kids to hate their own biology.” | Frames affirmation as indoctrination. | URF teaches: embracing your truth is holy, not harmful. |
Lauren Boebert | “There are only two genders: male and female. Period.” | Legislates spiritual erasure through false science. | URF recognizes Six Foundational Genders and honors all gender-diverse people. |
Franklin Graham | “Being transgender is rebellion against God.” | Uses religion to shame and reject. | We are created by God exactly as we are. Gender diversity is divine design. |
Libs of TikTok (Chaya Raichik) | “They’re grooming children by affirming trans identities.” | Spreads dangerous lies linking LGBTQ+ people to abuse. | Affirmation is healing, not grooming. URF protects all children’s rights to be loved as they are. |
✨ Sacred Tenets of URF as Response
Every Soul is Sacred – Regardless of gender identity or expression.
Gender Identity is a Divine Gift – Trans, non-binary, intersex, and cis identities are all sacred.
Compassion is the Highest Law – We do not mock what we do not understand. We uplift all beings.
The Six Foundational Genders – Drawn from global and indigenous traditions, remind us that binary systems are colonial impositions, not divine truth.
Sacred Sexuality & Bodily Autonomy – We affirm that all bodies are holy and that no institution may deny someone the right to express and live their truth.
The Shekinah Presence – The divine feminine, as known in Jewish mysticism, dwells in all who seek truth and embody love—trans women are the Shekinah incarnate.
Sacred Protection of Youth – URF affirms that trans youth are to be guided, not shamed. To withhold love and care is spiritual abuse.
💔 A Call to the Misguided
To those who have made a platform out of our pain, we say this:
You do not speak for God. You speak from fear, ignorance, and woundedness. But it is never too late to awaken.
We pray for your souls to soften. We pray that one day you will know the joy of divine diversity. We hold a space for your healing, even as we shield ourselves from your harm.
🕊️ Our Sacred Mission

For in the eyes of the Divine, we are not abominations. We are miracles.
