“Sacred Service: The Gift of Giving”

Beloveds,

As we gather today in spirit — across miles, time zones, and quiet spaces — we come together united in gratitude. November invites us into a sacred practice: to recognize the blessings we have, and to share those blessings with the world.

This week’s message, Sacred Service: The Gift of Giving, is rooted in a profound spiritual truth:

Giving is not something we do — giving is something we become.

When we give with love, we become conduits of divine energy.When we serve with compassion, we become instruments of healing.And when we act in generosity, we become living miracles for others.

In The Nature of Miracles, the reading reminds us:

“The greatest miracle of all is to be alive and know it. Breathing is the miracle.”— The Nature of Miracles, p. 354

If breathing is the miracle…then giving is the response to that miracle.

We give because we are alive.We serve because we are grateful.We love because we understand, even in our most difficult moments,that we are sustained by something greater than ourselves.

🌈 Giving as a Spiritual Identity

At Universal Rainbow Faith, giving is not transactional.It is transformational.

We do not give to get.We give because we are connected to the Source that never runs dry.

Every act of kindness is proof of abundance.Every moment of compassion is evidence of grace.Every time you help another person heal, breathe, cry, laugh, or rise —you are participating in the sacred cycle of creation.

Giving is an identity.A spiritual posture.A way of being that says:

“I am here on purpose.I am here with purpose.I am here as a channel for divine love.”

🌟 The Myth of Scarcity

So many of us — especially LGBTQIA+ people — have been raised in environments that taught fear, shame, scarcity, and survival.

We were told:“There isn’t enough.”“You aren’t enough.”“Your love doesn't fit.”“Your identity is wrong.”“Your truth is too much.”

But beloved, listen:

Scarcity is not a spiritual truth.Scarcity is a trauma response.

Abundance, generosity, love, and giving —these are the spiritual truths of your soul.

You were born with a heart capable of infinite compassion.You were born with a spirit that regenerates like light.You were born with a divine calling to bring healing where the world has wounded.

✨ Giving as Healing

For LGBTQIA+ people who have been rejected, harmed, or erased — giving becomes a form of spiritual reclamation.

Every time you give, you are saying:

“I am not defined by what hurt me.”“I am not limited by the fear of others.”“I am bigger than the story told about me.”“I choose love as my legacy.”

Giving heals us because it reconnects us with our divine identity.

🌟 Sacred Service in Daily Life

Sacred Service is not only about volunteering or doing something grand.It is the quiet, daily choice to show up with love.

Sacred Service is…

• Bringing kindness into difficult spaces

• Being patient with someone who is struggling

• Offering comfort to someone who feels alone

• Allowing your truth to shine in dark places

• Being fully present with someone who needs your attention

• Speaking up for justice

• Holding space for someone’s grief

• Sending a prayer, a blessing, a good thought

• Choosing compassion instead of judgment

• Sharing your gifts, talents, creativity, and wisdom

• Loving someone into healing

Sacred Service is not about effort.It is about alignment.

When you align with Spirit, you naturally give.When you align with Truth, you naturally uplift.When you align with Love, you naturally transform the world around you.

🌈 You Are a Miracle Carrying Miracles

Sometimes the simplest acts become the greatest blessings.

You may never know whose life you touched —but Spirit knows.The universe knows.And your own soul knows.

You are a miracle carrying miracles.

🌟 Saint We’wha — A Model of Sacred Giving

This month we honor Saint We’wha, the Two-Spirit cultural guardian whose life demonstrated harmony, service, and sacred responsibility to community.

Saint We’wha gave through presence.Through wisdom.Through identity.Through artistry.Through spiritual integration.

Their life was a testament to the truth that:

Giving is the bridge between who we are and who we are becoming.

And so it is for you.

So long as you breathe,you have something to give.

Government Reopening

Beloveds,

Before we go deeper into today’s message of Sacred Service, I want to pause and honor something extraordinary that happened recently — something many in our URF family witnessed and prayed through together.

When the government shut down, the world felt heavy.Families were afraid.People didn’t know what was coming next.And in the midst of confusion and political chaos, we did what spiritual warriors do:

We prayed.We held the High Watch.We stayed grounded in faith instead of fear.We declared Truth where others declared panic.

And beloved… the government reopened.

Prayer did that.

Not political strategy.Not who yelled the loudest on TV.Not who pushed fear or chaos.

It was prayer that held the consciousness.It was prayer that lifted the vibration.It was prayer that kept the spiritual doors open for Divine Order to move.

As I wrote in our URF blog during that time:

“When the world loses its center, someone has to hold the center.Someone has to hold the high ground of consciousness.Someone has to remember that Spirit is still in charge.”

And you did that.We did that.

As a community of Truth-tellers, Light-bearers, and spiritual protectors, we held the government — and the nation — in prayer, and the door opened.

This is the power of collective spiritual consciousness.

This is what it means to be a spiritual activist.This is what it means to walk the path of Sacred Service.This is what it means to be part of Universal Rainbow Faith.

Prayer is not passive.Prayer is participation.Prayer is power.Prayer is how we shift the world from fear to love.

And every one of you helped lift the consciousness of this nation, not by fighting…but by aligning with Divine Order.

This is why giving matters.This is why service matters.This is why keeping your heart open matters.

When we pray from a place of Truth —from the seat of divine authority —the world moves.

The doors open.The government reopens.The impossible becomes possible.

Because Spirit is not limited by politics.Spirit responds to consciousness.Spirit responds to Love.

This is your power.This is your calling.This is your sacred work.

And giving — in its highest form —is always a prayer.

A Spiritual Briefing for November 16, 2025

🌟 Introduction

Beloveds,As part of today’s message on Sacred Service and The Gift of Giving, it is important that we pause and speak truthfully about the recent government shutdown and reopening — and what it means for our transgender and LGBTQIA+ community.

This week, the government reopened after deep uncertainty and fear.And we — as a spiritual community — stood in prayer the entire time.

We held the high ground.We refused to collapse into fear.We lifted the consciousness of the nation.And through collective spiritual action… the government reopened.

But reopening does not mean we are fully safe, fully funded, or fully protected.

We must understand:

What improved.What remains under threat.And what God is calling us to do next.

This is not politics —this is spiritual awareness,justice consciousness,and community protection.

🟣 1. What Improved When the Government Reopened

While the shutdown caused fear and instability, reopening did offer several important temporary stabilizers:

✅ Critical programs reopened

• SNAP and food benefit programs (LGBTQ+ people rely on these disproportionately).

• Federal administrative processes restarted (passports, Social Security processing, ID updates, legal filings).

• Community grants that were frozen are beginning to move again.

✅ Stability was restored to millions of families

Including queer families, multi-generational homes, chosen family households, and trans individuals living on the margins.

🕊️ Spiritually, the reopening means this:

Prayer works. Consciousness shifts outcomes. Divine order still moves in this world.

This gives us spiritual encouragement and strengthens faith.

🔥 2. What Remains Dangerous — What Reopened With Restrictions

We must be sober and aware:

⚠️ Several appropriations bills contain anti-trans and anti-LGBTQ+ conditions

• Attempts to restrict federal funds for gender-affirming care

• Limitations on school inclusion, Title IX protections, and trans student support

• Funding tied to “biological sex” definitions

• Federal employee protections under review or weakened

• Grants for LGBTQIA+ organizations cut or frozen

These restrictions did not disappear when the government reopened.

They were built into the back-end of the funding.

This means:

The government is open —but not all freedoms reopened with it.

🌈 3. The Spiritual Reality: This Reopening Was Partial

From a spiritual perspective:

• The door opened

• But the way is narrow

• And our work is not finished

Reopening without full protections is like the Israelites leaving Egypt with Pharaoh still behind them.The sea has parted — but we are still walking.

This is why your sermon theme today is so prophetic:

Your consciousness helped open the door —and now your service helps protect the path.

💎 4. Why LGBTQIA+ and Trans Communities Must Stay Vigilant

Reopening affects our community in real ways:

🔹 Gender-affirming care is still under attack

Federal funding bans and restrictions are active threats.

🔹 Education policies remain unstable

Trans students and teachers may lose inclusion protections under evolving guidelines.

🔹 ID and administrative recognition may be harder

Backlogs, shifting rules, and political interference make gender marker and legal identity updates more vulnerable.

🔹 Social services may face future cuts

Housing programs, mental health supports, and youth programs that LGBTQIA+ people rely on are still in danger.

We must remain spiritually awake — not frightened, but awake.

🕯️ 5. Where URF Stands Spiritually

Universal Rainbow Faith stands for:

✨ Protection✨ Affirmation✨ Freedom✨ Healing✨ Truth✨ Visibility✨ Dignity

We declare:

No government, no policy, no political group has the authority to invalidate the divine nature of your gender, your identity, or your sacred truth.

Our rights are not political —they are spiritualinherentGod-givennon-negotiable.

This is our official stance.

🕊️ 6. PRAYER OF POWER & PROTECTION

“Prayer That Opens Doors”

Beloved Spirit,Source of all truth, freedom, and justice—We thank You for reopening the doors of government,for guiding the consciousness of this nation toward order,and for sustaining our community during uncertainty.

We ask now for divine protectionover every transgender and LGBTQIA+ soul,that no weapon formed in policy or prejudice shall prosper.

We bless the lawmakers whose hearts can still be moved.We bless the systems that can still be healed.We bless the grassroots voices rising in truth.And we bless the resilience in every queer heart.

Guide us to remain vigilant, compassionate, courageous,and firmly rooted in the Rainbow Light of Love.

Amen.And so it is.
