A new book is emerging from author, spiritual leader, and remote viewer Rev. Paula Josephine Sadler that seeks to explore one of the most challenging questions facing humanity today:

Can religion become a force for healing rather than division?

In her upcoming book, The Emerald Council: A Vision of Reconciliation, Faith, and Sacred Inclusion, Paula describes a profound remote-viewing experience in which she gathered the founders and leaders of the world's major religions around a symbolic emerald table to explore centuries of misunderstanding, exclusion, and suffering—particularly as it relates to LGBTQIA+ people.

We sat down with Paula to discuss the inspiration behind the book, the role of remote viewing, and why she believes humanity is ready for a new conversation.

Q: What inspired you to write The Emerald Council?

Paula Sadler:

I felt called to speak with all world faith leaders—past and present—to seek a course correction for the millennia of suffering caused by what I sensed were misunderstandings and misinterpretations of sacred teachings.

As I studied religion, history, and the experiences of LGBTQIA+ people around the world, I kept asking myself a simple question:

How could so many faiths founded upon love, compassion, mercy, and justice become associated with fear, exclusion, and suffering?

I believe humanity is ready for healing.

I believe humanity is ready to move beyond fear and separation.

This book is my attempt to begin that conversation.

Q: What role did remote viewing play in this project?

Paula Sadler:

Remote viewing was the bridge.

For me, remote viewing is much more than seeing distant places or events.

It is a relational tool.

A bridge.

A portal.

A way of accessing connections across time and space.

My experience has shown me that all things are connected.

All who have ever lived remain connected to the greater story of humanity.

Nothing truly leaves the Earth.

Matter remains.

Energy continues.

Consciousness continues.

Spirit continues.

Whether people view this through a spiritual, scientific, symbolic, or metaphysical lens is up to them.

What mattered to me was the message that emerged.

And that message was healing.

Q: What exactly is the Emerald Council?

Paula Sadler:

The Emerald Council is a visionary gathering.

In the experience, I found myself seated at a great round table illuminated by an emerald flame.

Gathered around that table were the founders and representatives of major world faith traditions.

Each brought their sacred texts.

Each brought their history.

Each brought their wisdom.

But there was no competition.

No argument.

No effort to prove who was right.

Instead, the conversation centered on one question:

"What have we done with love?"

The Emerald Council became a space where compassion, reconciliation, and human dignity took center stage.

Q: Why focus specifically on LGBTQIA+ people?

Paula Sadler:

Because LGBTQIA+ people have often stood at the intersection of faith and suffering.

For centuries, many have been told they were unwelcome, broken, sinful, or outside God's love.

As a transgender woman, I understand that pain personally.

But I also know that LGBTQIA+ people are not alone.

The deeper question is about humanity itself.

Who belongs?

Who is worthy?

Who is sacred?

The answer that emerged through this work was simple:

Every human being possesses inherent dignity.

Every human being deserves compassion.

Every human being deserves to belong.

Q: Is this book intended to replace religion?

Paula Sadler:

Absolutely not.

The Emerald Council is not a replacement for religion.

It is not an attempt to erase faith traditions.

It is not a new doctrine.

It is an invitation.

An invitation to reflection.

An invitation to dialogue.

An invitation to healing.

People can remain fully committed to their own faith traditions while engaging with the questions raised in this book.

In fact, that is my hope.

Q: What message do you hope readers take away?

Paula Sadler:

Hope.

Healing.

Compassion.

And the reminder that we are more connected than we realize.

I hope readers walk away understanding that fear and separation do not have to define our future.

We can choose something different.

We can choose understanding.

We can choose dignity.

We can choose love.

The founders in the Emerald Council repeatedly returned to the same message:

Love your neighbor as yourself.

That principle transcends religion.

It transcends politics.

It transcends culture.

And it may be one of the most important lessons humanity has ever been given.

Q: What would you like to say to readers right now?

Paula Sadler:

Thank you.

Thank you for being willing to explore difficult questions.

Thank you for being willing to imagine a more compassionate future.

Thank you for being willing to see one another as human beings first.

I bless you.

You are healing.

And so is the world.

Even if it begins only as black words upon white pages, it has begun.

We affirm it to be so.
